A yarn shop and knitting studio outside Alingsås
Mahani Studio is a small shop in Granvattnet, fifteen minutes from Alingsås. We sell DROPS yarn, ready-made knitting kits and run workshops — and you are welcome to sit down and try the yarn before you buy it.
The webshop is in Swedish, but you do not have to be. I am Magdalena — I am still learning Swedish myself, so we will find a language that works: English, German, Polish or Swedish.
Try before you buy
Knit a swatch in the studio before you decide. Needles, tape measure, a gauge frame and yarn to try are all out on the table. From 60 kr — free if you buy yarn for 300 kr or more. How it works →
Always knit a gauge swatch
That is my one piece of advice to everyone. What matters is the gauge printed in the pattern — that is the number you need to reach. And gauge does not depend only on the yarn and the needles, but on how tightly you hold the thread. That changes: we are human, sometimes relaxed, sometimes stressed. If yours comes out tighter or looser, there is always a solution — different needles, another size, a simple recalculation. Ask me and we will find it. The swatch takes half an hour; reknitting a front takes a week.

Workshops
Learn to knit, knit your first sweater, or make a pair of socks on two needles — no double-pointed needles, only knit stitches. Small groups, four to six places. See the courses →

There is always coffee and tea. Sit down, look through the patterns, put two colours next to each other and take your time — you do not need to have decided on anything.
